The Institution of Engineering and Technology prepares regulations for the safety of electrical installations for buildings, the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), which has now become the standard for the UK and many other countries. It has also prepared the Code of Practice for Installation of Electrical and Electronic Equipment in Ships (BS 8450) and recommends, internationally, the requirements for Mobile and Fixed Offshore Installations. This includes a series of eight Guidance Notes, two Codes of Practice and model forms for use in wiring installations.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology is one of the world's leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community. The IET publishes more than 100 new titles every year; a rich mix of books, journals and magazines with a back catalogue of more than 350 books in 18 different subject areas including:

Seismic Imaging and Inversion: Volume 1: Application of Linear Inverse Theory
Seismic Imaging and Inversion: Volume 1: Application of Linear Inverse Theory

Extracting information from seismic data requires knowledge of seismic wave propagation and reflection. The commonly used method involves solving linearly for a reflectivity at every point within the Earth, but this book follows an alternative approach which invokes inverse scattering theory. By developing the theory of seismic imaging from...

An Introduction to the Physical Chemistry of Food (Food Science Text Series)
An Introduction to the Physical Chemistry of Food (Food Science Text Series)

Familiar combinations of ingredients and processing make the structures that give food its properties. For example in ice cream, the emulsifiers and proteins stabilize partly crystalline milk fat as an emulsion, freezing (crystallization) of some of the water gives the product its hardness and polysaccharide stabilizers keep it smooth. Why...
