I work with Oracle software, and in particular, the Oracle database, on a daily basis. I also
work with people who are either writing software or implementing software from a vendor or
other third parly thai interacts with those databases. One of the more popular development
environments used to develop these pieces of software is Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.
Although other languages and development environments certainly have a strong and
loyal following, the Visual Studio .NET developer base doesn't appear to be in danger of immi-
nent extinction. On the contrary, with the recent releases of the .NET Framework and Visual
