| This book collects descriptions of the Object Management Group’s most powerful new CORBA and modeling specifications into a single volume. These specifications combine to give CORBA the capabilities it needs to support advanced Internet and enterprise computing. It includes almost all of the ten specifications originally labeled CORBA 3 (most of which have already been issued by the OMG as part of various CORBA 2.X point releases), and adds important new ones including the XML/Value mapping that represents an XML document as a multiply linked list of CORBA valuetypes. It also includes descriptions of OMG’s modeling standards: the Unified Modeling Language (UML), Meta-Object Facility (MOF), and XML Metadata Interchange (XMI).
