| This book is a compilation ofmyextensive project management, enterprise architecture, and applications development knowledge, skills, and industry experiences gained during my 28 years as an information technology (IT) professional in Canada and the United States. It is not intended to be another theoretical book on project management. There are many excellent books on project management concepts and theory, some of which are mentioned in the selected bibliographies at the end of each chapter. If you are in search of a book on Project Management 101, Elementary Project Management, then this is not the book for you. This book assumes a certain level of understanding of basic project management concepts and theory.
The purpose of this book is to provide my view from an IT industry perspective as to how to address these issues and the integration imperative by providing an integrated framework of processes, practices, and real-world scenarios based my 28 years as an IT professional in Canada and United States. I compiled these practical experiences into a single comprehensive volume—this book—in the hope that IT professionals involved in project management practices will understand and use the components of this integrated project management framework as a valuable reference guide during the management and delivery of IT projects. |
