| An excellent companion to our popular sendmail, Third Edition, this book documents the improvements in V8.13 in parallel with its release. Highlighting the important changes V8.13, the book points out not just what is handy or nice to have, but what's critical in getting the best behavior from sendmail. For a simple dot release, V8.13 sendmail has added more features, options, and fundamental changes than any other single dot release yet. The key to understanding them is the sendmail 8.13 Companion.
A separate book, containing mostly tables, proved a valuable companion to the second edition of sendmail (O'Reilly). It facilitated the easy lookup of options, macros, and other features, and aided in the day-to-day management of the sendmail program. Just as that companion book proved a valuable enhancement of the second edition, so, too, will this book prove an enhancement of the third.
This book also documents the improvements that have been added to the new V8.13 sendmail. Thus, all tables in this book include items from both the third edition and V8.13 sendmail. We hope that this combination will prove more valuable by synergy than would either in a standalone volume. |
