This book is exclusively dedicated to WiMAX. The focus of the book is
on the applications of WiMAX networks, with delivery of multimedia
content to wireless and mobile devices being the area of greatest attention.
WiMAX has crossed a number of major milestones in the recent
past. These include setting standards, adopting implementation profiles
to be used in base stations and user devices, developing chipsets,
certifying devices by the WiMAX Forum, trials in over 300 networks
and finally successful commercial operating networks in many countries.
With the adoption by the ITU of OFDMA-TDD technologies as one
of the air interfaces under the IMT-2000 (third-generation networks),
