Yes, it’s the sequel to LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT: The Mayan Adventure, but no previous experience with that book is required to use or enjoy this book. Please be aware that The Mayan Adventure used the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 1.0 kit which was released in 2006. The LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 kit was released in August 2009 and this book uses that kit and its components for all the specific robots used in this book. Owners of the NXT 1.0 kit can still enjoy the story and challenges found in this book, but there will be some modifications that the reader must perform if using the NXT 1.0 kit.

Readers of LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT: The Mayan Adventure will be able to pick up where that story ended — a map to King Ixtua’s treasure repository was found in his tomb and Evan and his archaeologist uncle are off on another adventure to find the king’s treasure. Feel free to jump straight to chapter one and get started!)
