    About the Author
Travis Swicegood is part of the AppDev team at Ning helping to build the platform that lets you create a social network. He's been programming professionally for nearly a decade, but would still be doing it for fun even if he was selling cars for a living.

He is actively involved in the development of several open-source automation tools in the PHP community, including several testing frameworks. He is also an active member of his local programming community, founding Lawrence Programmers. When not learning new programming languages or tools, he's normally found on one of his many bikes, tasting his latest culinary creation, or experimenting with a new home brew.

Constraint Networks: Targeting Simplicity for Techniques and Algorithms
Constraint Networks: Targeting Simplicity for Techniques and Algorithms

A major challenge in constraint programming is to develop efficient generic approaches to solve instances of the constraint satisfaction problem (CSP). With this aim in mind, this book provides an accessible synthesis of the author's research and work in this area, divided into four main topics: representation, inference, search, and...

Memory Management: Algorithms and Implementation in C/C++

This book is different. Very different.

In this book, I am going to pull the curtain back and let you see the little man operating the switches and pulleys. You may be excited by what you see, or you may feel sorry that you decided to look. But as Enrico Fermi would agree, knowledge is always better than...

Nonlinear Digital Filtering with Python: An Introduction
Nonlinear Digital Filtering with Python: An Introduction

Nonlinear Digital Filtering with Python: An Introduction discusses important structural filter classes including the median filter and a number of its extensions (e.g., weighted and recursive median filters), and Volterra filters based on polynomial nonlinearities. Adopting both structural and behavioral approaches in characterizing...

Dynamical Systems and Fractals: Computer Graphics Experiments with Pascal
This study of chaos, fractals and complex dynamics is intended for anyone familiar with computers. While keeping the mathematics to a simple level with few formulas, the reader is introduced to an area of current scientific research that was scarcely possible until the availability of computers. The book is divided into two main parts; the...
