| Ideally suited for the experienced business user of Visio 2002 who has mastered the fundamentals of using the software, but needs an in-depth treatment of the advanced features, especially customization.
Microsoft Visio is software for creating diagrams. Unlike other technical drawing programs, such as computer-aided drawing software, Visio is easy to use. To make a drawing, you don’t need to know how to draw! You drag shapes from stencils onto the page — it’s that simple. When you prefer to draw freehand, Visio includes a number of tools for drawing lines, circles, boxes, and curves.
The shapes are called SmartShapes because they know where to connect with each other. They resize appropriately and contain other “smarts.” For example, the lines that connect shapes, such as in flowcharts, are smart because they stretch when you move any connected shape.
With SmartShapes and dynamic connectors, Visio creates intelligent drawings. Typical drawings include organization charts, process flow charts, directional maps, and network diagrams. |
